<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle brake device mounted on a vehicle traveling on a track without requiring electric power and motive power for operation and allowing slow braking. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The vehicle 1 is constituted so that a cabin 6 is liftably mounted on a bogie 2, pressure accumulators 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D expanding/retracting by fluid such as oil are installed between the bogie 2 and the cabin 6, link type vehicle brakes 10A, 10B are arranged between the bogie 2 and the cabin 6, and the link type vehicle brakes 10A, 10B are braked or opened utilizing lifting displacement between the bogie 2 and the cabin 6. That is, when the pressure accumulators 5A, 5B, 5C, 5D are supplied with hydraulic oil, they expand lifting the cabin 6, and the link type vehicle brakes 10A, 10B become the open state. When the hydraulic oil is discharged, the cabin 6 is lowered, brake shoes 18a, 18b of the respective link type vehicle brakes 10A, 10B abut to press rails of a track, and the link type vehicle brake device 9 becomes the braking state.
