<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recoating method for preventing the occurrence of uneven thickness while preventing mixture of bubbles into a resin coat, for uniforming the thickness of the resin coat and for suppressing the occurrence of peeling of the resin coat even when a high-temperature/high-humidity test is performed. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the recoating method of an optical fiber having structure obtained by applying a coating material to the outer periphery of a bare fiber, a photo curing resin or heat curing resin with a viscosity range of 1 to 6 Pa s is applied to a bare fiber part of an optical fiber obtained after removing the coating material and fusion-connecting both bare fibers and the applied resin is photo-cured or thermally cured.
