METHOD FOR PRODUCING POLY-3-HYDROXYALKANOATE AND AGGLOMERATE OF POLY-3-HYDROXYALKANOATE

Disclosed is a method for producing a poly-3-hydroxyalkanoate, wherein when a poly-3-hydroxyalkanoate produced in a microorganism is separated and purified commercially, the amount of an organic solvent used therefor is suppressed, while reducing contaminants derived from cell components, and poly-3-hydroxyalkanoate agglomerates having an arbitrary volume average particle diameter are obtained with high productivity.  In the method, the pH of an aqueous suspension of a poly-3-hydroxyalkanoate is adjusted to acidic and agglomerates of the poly-3-hydroxyalkanoate are obtained.
