The display device (1) has a base (10) provided with a scale (11) for outputting a frequency determining variable (H1). A positioning element (12) is manually moved with respect to the base and adjusted at the scale of the base. A display unit (13) is provided such that the load acting on a door-actuating device is displayed based on the adjustment of the positioning element using an output scale (14). Another positioning element (15) is manually moved with respect the former positioning element. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining load acting on a door-actuating device of a motor vehicle.
