Determination of effective or ineffective chemotherapeutic drugs (single or in combination) for patients by individual in vitro testing of live tumor cells, before or during the therapy, where the effective or ineffective chemotherapeutic drugs are further tested in the presence of oxygen deficiency (hypoxia), glucose, transketolase-like 1 (TKTL1) inhibitors, an inhibitor for certain parts of the energy metabolism, and a medicament against cancer cells, is claimed.
