The braking system has a tandem-type main brake cylinder (3) with a pedal force simulator (4), where the system is operated by external force. Two separate modules (1, 2) are provided, where one of the modules is connected to a pair of wheel brakes (7, 8) and the other module is connected to another pair of wheel brakes (9, 10). Separate electrical brake pressure generation and individual wheel brake pressure control takes place in each module. The former module includes inlet and outlet valves (16, 17), which are identically designed.
