PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device, in which the ununiform sensitization of a photosensitive body can be corrected so as to be able to improve image quality and, at the same time, the promptly answering properties of an image forming action can be improved. SOLUTION: The image forming device specifies the rough sub-scanning position of a photosensitive drum 130 by metering the number of pulses of the gear photosensor output signal 144 of a gear photosensor 138 provided in a reduction gear 137 based on the rotary reference positional signal 122 of the photosensitive drum 130 during the changing of the rotational speed of the photosensitive drum 130. After that the image forming device corrects the ununiform sensitization by calculating proper addresses based on the metering of time from the specified sub-scanning position after the stabilization of the speed of the photosensitive drum 130 and by obtaining ununiform sensitization correcting data in the sub-scanning direction and in a main scanning direction from a table memory 160.
