<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a stator, which surely prevents a crossover for connecting adjacent coils in the stator of a rotating electrical machine from directly contacting with a coil end, therefore, prevents the deterioration of the insulation of a coil, and the stator, which is manufactured by the manufacturing method. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The stator 100 is manufactured through a press processing process, in which the end face on the side of a coil end 120b is pressed while a coil 120 is wound, making use of a slot 130, around each tooth part 112 of a stator core 110 which is constituted by arranging a plurality of teeth parts 112 equipped with slots 130 on both sides. This method of manufacturing the stator includes a crossover covering process, in which a crossover 120a for connecting adjacent coils 120 is covered with a low-permittivity insulator 140 before the press processing process.
