<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain information relating to the deposit of liquid in a liquid discharge device. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The liquid discharge device for discharging the liquid to a medium has a detecting section arranged in the liquid discharge device and including a first conductor and a second conductor arranged spaced apart from the first conductor by a predetermined distance, a measuring section for measuring an electrostatic capacity by the first conductor and the second conductor in the detecting section, and an output section for outputting the information relating to the deposit of the liquid in the liquid discharge device based on the electrostatic capacity measured by the measuring section.
