PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker safe and convenient in use without leakage of steam in cooking rice to the outside of a cooker body and without the risk of a scald in operating a water tank to which steam is collected. SOLUTION: When cooling water in the water tank 60 exceeds a predetermined temperature, the temperature information is reported to a user to call his attention, based on the information of a temperature detecting means 65 for detecting the temperature of cooling water in the water tank 60. The output of a heating means 21 heating an inner pot 30 is restrained, or a cooling fan 292 for cooling the water tank 60 is driven to thereby restrain the water tank 60 and the cooling water in the water tank 60 from reaching a high temperature.
