PURPOSE: A composition using Ecklonia cava extract is provided to treat, prevent, or relieve neurodegenerative diseases in animal. CONSTITUTION: A composition for treating or prevent animal neurodegenerative diseases contains effective amount of Ecklonia cava extract. The Ecklonia cava extract is obtained by homogenizing Ecklonia cava, immersing in organic solvent containing ethanol, and vacuum-depositing. The composition contains physiologically acceptable carrier or excipient. The composition is an oral composition. The composition is administered through food. The composition is a functional food or dietary supplement and is used in the form of capsule, tablet, or coated tablet.
