PURPOSE: A synchronization error tracing device and a method thereof are provided to reduce the complexity of a system by sharing a module designed for the initial synchronization and an initial synchronization process without the addition of the new correlation calculator. CONSTITUTION: A digital correlation detector(210) outputs a plurality of complex number correlation processing value by executing a correlation calculation processing about the input signal. A power calculator(220) outputs a plurality of power values by calculating the power value using the complex number correlation calculation processing values. A power combiner(230) calculates a first energy value, a second energy value, and a third energy value by using the power values. A synchronous detector(240) decides the synchronous position of the input signal by comparing the size of three energy values.
