<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell electrode having a catalyst layer carrying platinum uniformly in a precise amount, a manufacturing method for the fuel cell electrode, and a fuel cell having the electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell electrode has a catalyst layer containing catalyst particles and a polymeric electrolyte and a gas diffusion layer, the polymeric electrolyte being provided as a perfluorocarbon sulfonic acid polymeric electrolyte. Water present in a gap between polymers making up the polymeric electrolyte is removed while leaving absorption water to a sulfonic acid group in the polymeric electrolyte as it is. The catalyst particles and the polymeric electrolyte are mixed in a solvent together to form a flock in such a way that the ambient relative humidity falls within a range of 30 to 60%. In such an atmosphere, the flock is dried, crushed, and kept in storage, and a base material is subjected to a coating process. As a result, the moisture content of the polymeric electrolyte is 5% or less, and is preferably within a range of 2.5 to 3.75%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
