COMPACT SELF-BALLASTED FLUORESCENT LAMP AND LUMINAIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp and a luminaire provided with this compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp, for controlling light output of the fluorescent lamp substantially constant over a period of the rated service life, without enlarging with reduced cost.

SOLUTION: The compact self-ballasted fluorescent lamp 1 includes: a bending type fluorescent lamp 2; a lighting device 3 comprising a driving circuit 21 having an inductor CT1b and capacitors C5 and C6 and an integrated circuit 24 formed so as to gradually change an ON-OFF frequency of switching elements Q1 and Q2 of an inverter circuit 20, by gradually changing a resonant frequency of the driving circuit 21, by substantially changing an inductance value of the inductor CT1b of the driving circuit 21 or a capacitance value of the capacitors C5 and C6 in response to a cumulative lighting time of the fluorescent lamp 2; and a cover 4 for storing the lighting device 3.
