PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire for improving braking performance on ice. SOLUTION: In this pneumatic tire, a tire tread 1 is sectioned into a plurality of blocks by a plurality of circumferential grooves 3 extending in a tread circumferential direction and a plurality of widthwise grooves 4 extending in a tread width direction, and a plurality of sipes 21 extending in the tread width direction are formed in the blocks. The blocks 20 are segmented into a plurality of block pieces by the sipes 21, and have at least one pair of block pieces formed by adjacently arranging a first block piece 22R of which the tread circumferential width of the block piece gradually reduces toward a center part from the edge part of the block 20 in the tread width direction, and second block piece 22T of which the width gradually increases toward a center part from the edge part of the block in the tread width direction. The width in the tread circumferential direction of the first block piece 22R gradually decreases toward the tread face, and the width in the tread circumferential direction of the second block piece 22T gradually increases toward the tread face.
