PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate an electronic document in which display of vector data and character code data which are obtained from a character image is easily switched depending on the application. SOLUTION: An image processor executes a character recognition process with respect to the character image in a character region to obtain character code data, and executes a vectorization process with respect to the character image in the character region to obtain vector data. Thereafter, the image processor generates a plurality of color information definitions which define the drawing colors of the character code data and the vector data based on a rule and a character color of the character image which are set for each of the plurality of color information definitions. Thereafter, the image processor generates the electronic document containing the character code data, the vector data, and the plurality of color information definitions. By switching the color information definitions of the electronic document thus generated, the type of data to be displayed is easily switched for each data type. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
