PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a botanical medicine having an estrogen-type effect.

SOLUTION: The invention relates to the use of an extract derived from iris plants and cimicifuga racemosa, and tectorigenin as an estrogen-type organ-preferential medicament of preferential treatment and/or prevention of cardiovascular diseases, especially atherosclerosis, osteoporosis and climacteric disorder, for example, for prevention or alleviation of hot flush. Uterotrophic effect is not specifically observed.
