PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welded-type strain gauge capable of being made compact and low-profile, and reducing its manufacturing cost, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The welded-type strain gauge is manufactured by the method including: a half-hardening process of heating a gauge base 3 having a sensing part 31 at its first surface and an adhesive 4 at its second surface, thereby bringing the adhesive 4 to be in its half-hardened state; a contacting process of inserting the gauge base 3 into a metallic pipe 1 and bringing the second surface of the gauge base 3 to contact with the inner surface of the metallic pipe 1 through the adhesive 4; a crushing process of crushing the metallic pipe 1 toward the surface of the gauge base 3 disposed on the inner surface of the metallic pipe 1; and a reheating process of reheating the crushed metallic pipe 1, thereby hardening the adhesive 4.
