PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce manufacturing cost and a process, by enabling miniaturization by reducing the size in an internal structure of a secondary battery. SOLUTION: The secondary battery includes a bare cell 100 including a can, an electrode assembly and a cap assembly, and a protective circuit module 140 positioned on the bare cell 100, wherein the protective circuit module 140 can include a protective circuit board 141 composed of metal. The cap assembly includes a cap plate 131 having a first terminal hole, an electrode terminal 134 inserted into the first terminal hole, and a gasket positioned between the electrode terminal 134 and the cap plate 131, and the protective circuit module 140 may include an insulating layer 142 positioned on the protective circuit board 141, a charge-discharge terminal 143 and a protective circuit part 144 positioned on the insulating layer 142.
