PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a developed image of the outer circumference of an imaging target which simultaneously performs rotational movement and translational movement: and to obtain a developed image having less distortion if the imaging target has unstable or unknown rotational speed. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus has: a transfer section 10 for allowing an imaging target 100 to simultaneously perform rotational movement and translational movement; an area sensor 20 installed so that the imaging target 100 to rotate at least one time within an imaging range 21; and an image processing section 30 for connecting at least a part of each of a plurality of images picked up in time series by the area sensor 20 to create a developed image of the outer circumference of the imaging target 100.
