METHOD FOR TREATING IRON CORE OF TRANSFORMER CORE, AND DEVICE FOR CLEAVING IRON CORE OF TRANSFORMER CORE

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treatment method capable of efficiently performing the detoxification treatment of the iron core of a transformer core even when varnish is adhered to the iron core, and a device for cleaving iron core. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The iron core taken out of the transformer core is cut to form a laminate of which the thickness is preferably at least 5 mm and at most 20 mm. This laminate is passed through the gap between at least a pair of rolls to be subjected to bending processing to thereby cleave the steel plate constituting the laminate. The laminate after cleavage is washed with a washing agent. Here, each of the rolls has a plurality of columnar protrusions provided on the surface of its outer peripheral part and the columnar protrusions are arranged in parallel to each other in the direction orthogonally crossing the rotary direction of the rolls so that the center axes thereof become the same direction as the rotary shaft of each of the rolls.
