<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively reduce aerodynamic noise generated when a car passes through a narrow part of a hoistway or aerodynamic noise generated when passing by a counterweight. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Air current generators 10a and 10b are arranged on a surface opposed to the landing hall side of the hoistway 35 of at least one end among an upper end and a lower end of the car 31 lifting/lowering in the hoistway 35, and an air current for straightening a flow of air flowing in the front of the car 31 by restraining the separation flow formed at the tip of the car 31 in traveling, is generated from these air current generators 10a and 10b.
