<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire bead insulation and a tire bead cover, having high hardness and high elongation breaking resistance, excellent in adhesion property to a bead wire and workability, and also to provide a pneumatic tire using it. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In the rubber composition for the tire bead insulation (G) and the tire bead cover (C), 0.5-10 pts.mass of an esterified substance of a styrene-maleic anhydride resin, 60 pts.mass or more of carbon black, and 10 pts.mass of an inorganic filler are formulated based on 100 pts.mass of a diene-based rubber, and a total formulation amount of the carbon black and the inorganic filler is 100-180 pts.mass.
