Disclosed is a fuel cell comprising a blocking flow passage that can suppress flooding. The fuel cell comprises at least a laminate with a membrane electrode structure and a pair of separators that holds the laminate therebetween. An inflow passage through which a reactive gas to be fed into the laminate flows and an outflow passage through which the reactive gas after passing through the laminate flows are provided on the laminate-side face of the separator. In the inflow passage, the downstream end of the reactive gas to be fed into the laminate is closed while, in the outflow passage, the upstream end of the reactive gas after passing through the laminate is closed. The inflow passage and the outflow passage are separated from each other by the separator. In the laminate-side face of the separator, inflow passages are disposed respectively on both the end in the direction of flow passage width in the inflow passage and the end in the direction of flow passage width in the outflow passage.
