FAST ROUTING OF CUSTOM MACROS

PURPOSE: A fast routing system of custom macros is provided to prevent the delays of conventional custom macro routing. CONSTITUTION: A placement engine(102) receives a hierarchical schematic(108). The placement engine is formed for the generation of a placement layout(110). A flat layout engine(104) receives the hierarchical schematic. The flat layout engine is formed for the generation of a flat layout(112). A back annotation engine(106) is connected to the placement engine and the flat layout engine. The back annotation engine receives a hierarchical placement layout and flat unplaced layout. The back annotation engine is formed for the generation of flat place layout(114).
