<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems wherein loss accompanying charge/discharge occurs because control to output an output larger than output which an engine needs for a travel in an area not needing a motor assist to charge an electric storage device causes charging to the electric storage device from the engine though can obtain high acceleration performance and wherein loss of the battery charge/discharge occurs because control to perform the charging to the electric storage device during the travel so as to maintain a charging amount of the electric storage device within a certain range so as to cope with any of the assist and regeneration causes the charging to the electric storage device from the engine and causes discharging from the electric storage device to drive an axle, so as to achieve load reduction of the electric storage device, and to reduce the loss by the charge/discharge. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle is driven without performing the charging to the electric storage device from the engine by controlling an engine output such that the engine output is made to be not more than energy needed in drive of a motor or that all the engine output is consumed in a device except the electric storage device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
