<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and image processing apparatus detecting a defect in an image with high accuracy when the image is printed on a recording medium or on an intermediate transfer body. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus 100 is configured to inspect an image printed on the recording medium 105 or on the intermediate transfer body. In the image processing apparatus 100, a composition section 103 creates composite image information by combining visible main image information that is perceived by human eyes with information in an invisible state where the image information is hardly perceived by human eyes, a printer 104 prints the composite image information created by the composition section 103 on the medium, and an inspection image input section 106 reads the composite image printed on the recording medium or on the intermediate transfer body, as an inspection image, an extraction section 107 extracts the information combined with the main image information in the inspection image input by the inspection image input section 106, and a defect determination section 108 determines a defect of the image printed on the recording medium or on the intermediate transfer body on the basis of a result of information extraction performed by the extraction section 107. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
