<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus with a flat panel display such as a liquid crystal display, which is installed outdoors. Ž<P>SOLUTION: In this image display apparatus, an accommodation room 121 is formed inside a case 12 having a waterproof structure, and the inside of the accommodation room 121 is provided with an image display panel 11 having a display screen 112a capable of being visually recognized from the surface side of the case 12. One or more heat pipes 13 extending from the inside to the outside of the accommodation room 121 are attached to the back surface 111 of the image display panel 11, and a heat recovering means for recovering heat from the heat pipes 13 is arranged in the heat pipes 13 outside the accommodation room 121.
