PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fertilizer which is prepared by reutilizing wastes from the protein industry as a nitrogen source, is inexpensively and easily producible, and exhibits an excellent fertilizing effect. SOLUTION: The fertilizer is composed of hydrolysates of proteins, and a peptide chelate compound formed of a metal ion selected from among iron, zinc, manganese, and copper.
