PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording apparatus whose production cost is reduced and safety is improved. SOLUTION: In the inkjet recording apparatus, end faces of a hollow ink-extracting pipe 12 and an outer air introducing pipe projectingly provided from the mounting part of an ink cartridge are roughly flatly formed, the end faces are opened by openings, and communication openings 81a-81d are formed by cutting outer periphery walls of the openings. When mounting the ink cartridge onto the mounting part, a valve member in the ink cartridge is pushed up at the planes of the end faces of the ink extracting pipe 12 and outer air introducing pipe. A flow path is secured by the communication openings 81a-81d in that state to communicate the inside of the ink cartridge with the insides of the ink extracting pipe 12 and outer air introducing pipe.
