PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-carrier transmitter/receiver apparatus and a multi-carrier transmitting/receiving method which reduce transmission power consumption. SOLUTION: A first system control part 111 determines the number of sub-carriers based on at least one piece of information on preset transmission rate, data modulation method, presence of diversity control, and presence of pilot signal; and outputs an amplitude gain control signal for a first gain control part 106 to ensure that the transmission power is a predetermined value or below. A sub-carrier selection part 109 outputs the position information of the sub-carrier based on a cyclic pattern pre-set according to the number of sub-carriers.
