PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust the height of a measuring object on a measuring position by a simple operation, while keeping excellent measurement accuracy, on a rotatable measuring table. SOLUTION: A height adjusting device 10 for adjusting the height of a workpiece W includes: a lifting body 82 provided liftably on the measuring table 2; and a taper block supporting the lifting body, and having an inclined plane 81a inclined with respect to the measuring table surface, for lifting the lifting body by relative movement of the inclined plane with respect to the lifting body.
