<p>A lubricant applying device provided to a moving section which moves along a track member and applying a lubricant to the track member as the moving member moves relative to the track member. The lubricant applying device is equipped with a containing section which contains the lubricant, is provided with an applying section for applying the lubricant to the track member, and moves between a position at which the containing section sandwiches and holds the track member and a position at which the sandwiching and holding of the track member by the containing section is released, and the lubricant applying device is also equipped with a holder section which is provided to the moving section and removably holds the containing section. One of the containing section or the holder section is provided with a projection, and the other one of the containing section or the holder section is provided with a recess into which the projection fits to hold the containing section against movement thereof in the direction of movement of the moving section.</p>
