<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more accurately detect an opened/closed state of an eye. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A face direction detection part 121 detects a direction of a face of a person based on a face image that is an image of the face of the person photographed by a camera 111. An eye detection part 122 detects size of an eye of the person based on the face image. An opening/closing degree calculation part 123 calculates an opening/closing degree wherein an opening/closing degree showing opening condition of the eye of the person based on the size of the eye of the person in the face image is corrected to a value when seeing the face of the person from the front based on the detected direction of the face of the person.
