PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller structured of a small number of parts items and capable of holding a volume at a proper position by preventing application of force, which then gives a bad influence to the volume, even if excessive force is applied to an operation knob. SOLUTION: The operation knob 4 and the volume 7 are loosely connected to each other, and a flange 8 directed outward is provided in the periphery of the operation knob 4. A closing plate 3 is formed of: a front plate 14 including an insertion hole 13a, of which diameter is smaller than that of the flange 8; and a bottom plate 16 installed, with a space provided between the front plate 14, and including a volume hole 15. The closing plate is fixed to a substrate insertion opening 10 of a case 2. The operation knob 4 is fitted, so that the flange 8 is positioned within the space of the closing plate 4. With this structure, even if an excessive force is applied to the operation knob 4, a bad influence is not given to the volume 7, and the volume 7 is held at the proper position.
