The game system has a game console (1) e.g. Wii game console, provided with a game program. A game ball (6) i.e. soft ball, with markings (12, 13) attached to players (8, 9). An acceleration sensor cooperates with the markings in the game ball. A start position of the game ball is assigned to one of the players by the program. Game tasks are assigned to each player and produced by the program. The game tasks are solved by using the markings and under an effect on the ball. A wireless connection (3) is made between the console and the game ball for measurement data collected by the sensor. An independent claim is also included for a method for executing a video game with a video game system.
