Disclosed are curable compositions with excellent smoothness when applied to/dried on plastic base materials, with which warping after curing and chipping during cutting do not easily occur, and which have excellent mar resistance, transparency, adhesiveness and UV resistance. Also disclosed are active energy ray-curable compositions that can be cured without using photopolymerization initiators or using small amounts thereof. The curable compositions comprise reaction products (A) that are obtained by reacting alkoxysilane compounds (a1) represented by general formula (1) with inorganic oxide microparticles (a2) in the presence of water and an organic solvent.
