The device (2) has a dryer (6) for receiving granular and wet fuel (4), and a heating device with a heat exchanger (18) for heating the fuel within the dryer. The heat exchanger is thermally connected with renewable energy sources such as solar heat energy source (8) and geothermal energy source (10). The heat exchanger is connected with the geothermal energy source for pre-heating and the solar heat energy source for reheating. The dryer is a fluidized-bed dryer for forming a fluidized-bed for the dried fuel.
