931,917. Couplings between relatively movable conducting parts. O. DUNKEL. Nov. 19, 1959 [Nov. 19, 1958], No. 39291/59. Class 38 (1). A contact device for transfer of electrical current from a rotary body 1 to a stationary body 3 comprises a helical spring 5, e.g. of rectangular or triangular cross-section, seated in a helical recess 6 of different pitch to cause contact pressure between the spring 5 and one side of the recess 6. The spring 5 surrounds and frictionally engages a conductive body 2 attached to the movable body 1 and is held in the recess 6 by closure plates 7. Teeth 13 between the recess 6 act as bearings for the movable body. Alternatively, the body 3 may move and the body 1 remain fixed. In another embodiment, Fig. 2, a spiral spring 8 of triangular cross-section lies between two discs 9, 10 resiliently urged together and rotatable relative to each other. The spring engages a recess 12 of different pitch causing contact pressure between the spring and one side of the recess 12. |
