<p>A coupling for attaching to an end of a tube, pipe, conduit or other round solid or hollow section is disclosed. The coupling comprises an inner body and a collar to be provided around the inner body. The inner body has an external inclined surface 1, an interior bore passing through at least a portion thereof to receive a tube and the bore has one or more interior annular protuberances 5. The collar has an internal inclined surface (9, Figure 3) to co-act with surface 1 of the inner body to provide the compressive force. In use the collar and inner body are movable from a less engaged position to a more engaged position by an axial force so inclined surfaces 1, (9) co-act to apply a compressive force and deform the inner body such that the one or more annular protuberances 5 engage the tube to seal with it.</p> |
