Buttons 34 are delivered by hopper 11 to shoot 10 down which they slide to a sewing machine. Shoot 10 is made readily adjustable for use with button differing thicknesses by three adjustment means 37, 38, 39. Adjustment means 37 (or 38) Fig. 2. The shoot has a fixed backing member 14 and a pair of rails 15 between which the shank of the button slides. The rails 15 are carried by arm 42 hinged at 43 to arm 41 rigid with member 14, so that operation of screw 46 by knob 47 varies the distance between member 14 and rails 15. Additionally, the distance between the rails 15 may be varied to allow for different sized shanks. Adjustment 39 (Fig. 4). Rails 65, 66, which form a continuation of rails 15, are carried by frame 64 so that operation of screws 60, 61, 62, which are screw-threaded into backing member 14 varies the distance between member 14 and the rails 65, 66. |
