A copper-silver-titanium-indium-nickel brazing alloy for joining together metal or ceramic bodies consists of the following composition by weight:- Cu 30 to 60%, Ag 5 to 35%, Ti 15.5 to 30%, In 5 to 25%, and Ni 1.5 to 12%, with replacement, partly or wholly, of Ti by Zr or Hf, of Cu or Ag by Au, and of In by Bi, Sn, Pb or Sb. The brazing of one body to another, such as metal to metal (e.g. stainless steel or Ni-Cr-Fe alloy) or ceramic (e.g. alumina, forsterite, zircon, electrical porcelain) is described in Group XXII.
