The device has a calculating unit for calculating an escape interval value from successive instants of occurrence of spontaneous ventricular depolarizing potentials (R) detected by main ventricular detection units. Another calculating unit calculates another escape interval value from successive instants of occurrence of ventricular contractions detected by auxiliary detection units. A selecting unit selects the latter interval value, in case of activation of an anti-tachycardiac auricular stimulation unit.
