Method for controlling a machine for handling containers

The method involves separating an electromotive turntable drive (44) of a turntable, which is used for adjusting and/or positioning a container. The defective turntable drive is deactivated during occurrence of malfunction of the drive under continued operation of a rotary table machine. Subsequent steps for monitoring container positions are partially deactivated, where the container positions are associated to the deactivated turntable drive. A labeling device is temporarily deactivated for the container positions.
