PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of polarizing film which hardly causes scratches and wrinkles. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of polarizing film, a polyvinyl alcohol film is treated in order of swelling, dyeing, borating and water washing and uniaxial stretching is performed on the borating process and/or the prior process. Therein, a sponge rubber roller is used as at least one guide roller in treatment liquid. Further, the hardness of sponge in the sponge rubber roller is 20 to 60 degrees by JIS Shore C scale, the density of sponge is 0.4 to 0.6 g/cm<SP>3</SP>and the surface roughness is 10 to 30 S.
