A multi-spindle automatic lathe with a workturret 3, Fig. 1, and a number of transverse tool-slides 15, arranged on both sides of the centre line of the machine, is provided with selector stop mechanism for each spindle. A gear 2, Fig. 2, rotating with the indexible turret, drives a pinion 1 which, through shafts, bevel gears and worm gearing, intermittently rotates stopdrums 13 with a number of adjustable stops 14, one for each spindle. Each tool slide 15 has a stop-drum adjacent its end and a single adjustable stop 16 on the tool slide co-operates in turn with each of the stops in its corresponding stop-drum. |
