PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prenyl derivative compound having an inhibitory effect against NO production, and an anti-inflammatory agent containing the same. SOLUTION: The new compound is the prenyl derivative compound of formula (I) (wherein Het is a heterocyclic group of formula (II), (III) or (IV)). The compound can be prepared through a known process using as a starting material a compound obtained by the extraction of the root of Ferula fukanensis K M shen with an organic solvent (e.g. methanol, chloroform or ethyl acetate).
