METHOD FOR ESTIMATING TIMING OFFSET TO DOWNLINK SIGNAL IN WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND APPARATUS THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for estimating a timing offset to a downlink signal in wireless communication system and an apparatus thereof are provided to compensate phase rotation each route by calculating a response to a channel impulse ad storing M routes. CONSTITUTION: A fast Fourier transform(15) changes a received signal into a signals of a plural of frequency domain of each route. A preamble generation unit(131) extracts a plurality of preamble signals from the frequency domains. A correlator(132) respectively mutually correlates the extracted preamble signals and signals of a plurality of frequency domains. A signal-noise ratio estimating unit(136) presumes the signal-noise ratio of the signals of the frequency domain according to each route. A location selection part(137) presumes a route having highest SNR as a timing offset.
