PURPOSE: An apparatus for detecting and eliminating an insect in a digital image processing device is provided to emit UV rays at a location where insects are detected, thereby electrically eliminating the insects. CONSTITUTION: An insect detecting unit(100) detects whether insects exist in an object from feature extraction information and motion information of the object. If an insect detecting signal is received from the insect detecting unit, an insect eliminating unit(200) eliminates the detected insects. The insect detecting unit detects whether insects exist based on a moving vibration frequency of the object or voice information of the object.
