PURPOSE: A high speed setting tank is provided to rapidly separate and remove sludge than a sludge blanket by screw flow of raw water flowed to a side in a sludge separation space without an impeller. CONSTITUTION: A high speed setting tank of a sludge blanket type includes the following: a sludge separation space(10) which is gradually broaden towards the top; a sludge outlet(40) discharging the sludge separated from raw water, and is installed between a raw water inlet(20) and a purified water outlet(30); and an inclined plate settling part(50) separating remaining sludge in purified water by an inclined plate.
